Lauren looked jaw-dropping in Filippa by Elysee on her wedding day in July. She and her husband got married in the Brig O’Doon, and our Glasgow team adored styling her!

Tell us a bit about your day!

Our wedding day was everything I had ever dreamed of and more. It was perfectly us — a celebration and a party from start to finish. Our stunning venue, Brig o’ Doon, was like a fairytale come true, from the day before right through to the day after.

The morning was filled with nerves and the most special moments with my Willow and the girls. As soon as I reached the top of those famous stairs and saw my husband-to-be, all my nerves disappeared. From there, the day was filled with joy — watching our closest friends and family dance their hearts out, Capella adding beautiful touches during our photographs, and a solo violinist bringing absolute vibes during dinner. I don’t know what we did more of — dance or eat! Shannon Sketches added such a unique touch with hand-drawn portraits of our guests, and the speeches were out of this world — personal, funny, and perfectly us (a mix of calm and chaos!).

Our evening was just as magical, with our wedding party going above and beyond with their entrances. Even though they teased me for choreographing them, it turned out to be so much fun, and they had the time of their lives.

Some of my favourite moments were when our photographers took Jordan and me away for photos — just the two of us. It gave us the chance to breathe, talk, and soak it all in while watching our loved ones enjoy themselves. My face was sore from smiling and laughing all day.

At one point during dinner, someone turned to me and said, “This is the classiest chaos I’ve ever seen” — and it couldn’t have summed up the atmosphere better. The entire room was on their feet dancing between courses, and it was exactly what we had hoped for. We really do know how to throw a party!

I’ve always loved love, and I’ve always loved words, so I wanted our day to be filled with special touches that had real meaning and impact. Seeing those little details come to life warmed my heart. One of the most emotional moments for me was watching our guests open their place cards. Instead of a name, each person had a letter from us, sharing what they meant to us. Seeing my closest friends and family pause, read, and realise how important they are in our lives was incredibly special — it was everything I had hoped for and more.

Wearing the dress I found at The White Collection meant more to me than I can explain. My mum sadly passed away before our wedding, but she was with me on the day I said “yes to the dress,” and knowing how much she loved it made it even more special. I truly felt like a million dollars, and I feel emotional every time I think back to it.

How did you end up finding 'the one'?

I actually found the one in the most unexpected way. The White Collection was the very first shop I visited, and the very first dress I tried on ended up being the one. I am the most indecisive person ever — I’ve never in my life put on an outfit, a dress, or got ready for a night out or a wedding and thought, “oh, you look good in that.” I can be very self-sabotaging when it comes to how I look. But as my best friend Toni said, I did the most out-of-character thing that day: when I put her on, I just knew she was the one.

Even though I tried on nine other dresses just to be sure, I kept coming back to her. Niamh made me feel so relaxed and confident in my choice, and it just felt right. What made it even more meaningful was that my mum, who sadly passed away before our wedding, was there with me when I said yes to the dress — knowing how much she loved it means the world to me.

What did you love about being a The White Collection bride?

What I loved most about being a White Collection bride was the whole vibe of the store — it’s so beautiful and dreamy, but also so relaxed. The girls made me feel completely at ease, and I never once felt rushed to make a decision or even to leave. Every appointment had such thoughtful touches that made the experience feel so special.

They were incredibly supportive and accommodating, especially during a really difficult time for me, and that meant the world. Even down to the little details, like the flowers I received when I collected my dress and the most gorgeous dress box, everything felt so carefully thought through. It truly is a bride’s dream.

Did you have bridesmaids? How did you involve them in the wedding and how did you decide on their wedding wardrobe?

I had eight bridesmaids, which might sound excessive, but I’m so lucky to have so many amazing friends who are all so good to me — I just couldn’t choose. Each of my girls means so much to me in completely different ways, and I knew I wanted them all by my side.

They were such an important part of the whole journey. They came to my dress reveal, they supported me throughout the wedding day, and they were there whenever I needed them most. I never had to assign roles because I knew they would just instinctively know what to do, and they did.

Choosing their wedding wardrobe wasn’t the easiest journey — we had a few disasters along the way! But we got there in the end, and it was so worth it. The dresses suited every single one of them perfectly and tied in beautifully with my décor and venue. They looked so classy and stunning — a complete vision. I’ve had so many people ask where the dresses were from because they loved them so much.

I honestly wouldn’t have made it to the wedding day without my girls. They kept me grounded, made me laugh, and were everything I needed and more.

What was your favourite part of the day?

This is such a hard question because every part of the day was so special in its own way, but if I had to choose, it would be walking towards Jordan and the whole ceremony itself. As soon as our song started and I began walking down the aisle, all my nerves disappeared the second I saw his face. It just felt so right and everything fell into place. Seeing how emotional he was reassured me that I had truly chosen the right one.

Sharing our personal vows was another highlight — getting to tell him all the reasons I love him and hearing his promises to me was so meaningful. I also loved hearing our story told from start to finish by our celebrant, Paul Browett.

There were so many special touches throughout the ceremony that made it perfectly us: my friend Laura, my “something blue,” reading a poem about our story; Jordan’s chief groomsman, Biddy, surprising our guests with a rendition of Bonnie Wee Jeanie McColl to give that real Scots vibe at Brig o’ Doon; and the fact we played Ringo, so even our ring bearer was a surprise to us!

The whole ceremony was just us from start to finish — beautiful, emotional, a little crazy, and completely perfect. Even the “special guest” (which only our guests will know about!) made it unforgettable.
