Aya, from Cornwall

Aya was ethereal on her wedding day at St Germans Priory in May! She wore the stunning Malmo by Rosa Clara Couture, which she said “yes” to in our Portishead boutique.

Tell us a bit about your day!

We were married in the historic St Germans Priory before taking a short stroll to the Orangery at Port Eliot, tucked just behind the church. Although I spent weeks worrying about the weather, the skies opened on our wedding day, and it rained from start to finish. In the end, it didn’t matter at all. The day was filled with so much love, laughter, and joy from our family and friends that we barely noticed the rain.

How did you end up finding 'the one'?

I was browsing online when I came across the dress and discovered it was a Rosa Clara design. The lovely team at The White Collection kindly loaned it in for me to try. With less than eight months until my wedding, I was feeling a little stressed after visiting several bridal shops and not finding anything I truly loved. I wasn't sure I'd ever get that "feeling", but after trying on some beautiful dresses, Sally was only halfway through putting this one on when I turned to her and said, "This is my dress!"

What did you love about being a bride of The White Collection?

Every stylist and member of the team I met was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and supportive. They had such a wonderful way of understanding what you loved while guiding you through all the emotions that come with wedding dress shopping. Every visit to The White Collection felt so special, and I always looked forward to my appointments. The team made me feel genuinely cared for and celebrated every step of the way.

Did you have bridesmaids? How did you involve them in the wedding and how did you decide on their wedding wardrobe?

I let my bridesmaids/men choose their own dresses and suits so they would feel comfortable and wear something they genuinely loved. I also wanted them to have outfits they could wear again after the wedding. As they were all coming from different countries, it made things much easier logistically and allowed us to create a relaxed, mix-and-match look that felt personal to everyone.

What was your favourite part of the day?

Having so many of the people we love and cherish together in one room was incredibly special. It was a day filled with so much joy, and one that we will always look back on with the fondest memories.
