Lauren was glowing in Ollie by Made With Love, paired with Ziggy veil! She visited our Glasgow boutique to find her dream dress for her wedding at GG’s Yard in April!

Tell us a bit about your day!

We had a small, intimate wedding with our closest family and friends in our favourite place, we found GG’s in Covid when we were staycationing and we’ve visited every year since. We have so many fun memories there and used to watch people getting married when we were there hoping it would be us one day. We manifested it 😅

Personal with a relaxed, chilled/lovely atmosphere with lots of colour was our vision. Just so much love and fun vibes with our favourite people in our favourite place.

How did you end up finding 'the one'

I had a look online on Made With Love and absolutely fell in love with their dresses, I hadn’t saw any like it and I loved the fun, modern vibes they all had, then I couldn’t believe it when I found out The White Collection was coming to Glasgow - it was meant to be!

I feel like I loved them all so much online but it was Keelin who helped me find the ‘one’ despite them all being so beautiful.

I’m usually so plain and simple but the sparkle in Ollie and Ziggy just made me feel excited and gave me a feeling that other ones didn’t. I just went with my gut and heart and the feelings I got when I tried them on, which was so hard because there actually wasn’t any I really didn’t like. I loved feeling sparkly and like THE bride, probably because it was sooo different to what I usually go for. I just loved feeling sparkly and the veil sparkling when I walked.

I’d say don’t be scared to try on something that you wouldn’t usually go for or something you don’t think you’ll like, try them, it’s so much fun and sometimes it might be your one! You will know when you find the one - it’s a special feeling where you just don’t want to take it off.

What did you love about being a The White Collection bride?

I loved everything but especially my lovely bridal stylist Keelin - I’ll forever be in love with Ollie and my sparkly ziggy veil that she helped me find. She made me feel so special, Keelin kept saying Ollie matched my personality and she got it right because everyone keeps telling me the dress was made for me. I feel she just got me from the minute I stepped in the door and was so patient and calming. I promise all of the girls, no matter which stylist will make you feel so beautiful, even if you’re not feeling it on the inside, they help you trust the vision and picture the end goal 🤍 and on your day, you’ll feel exactly that!

The White Collection give you pegs when you go in and you can just go around and peg the dresses you love most and want to try on, this was so much fun.

I loved that The White Collection made not only me, but my mum feel so special and involved. The White Collection girls really understand and appreciate the importance of picking your dress - it’s a special day amongst the chaos of wedding planning and I feel they really want it to be a safe fun escape - a calm in the storm which it absolutely was. They also made my mum feel really listened to and involved, and supported her in her little moments of happy tears - they really recognised this was a milestone for her too and a day she would cherish forever. (She still has the little Polaroid on her bed side)

The room itself is so beautiful, we shared so many emotions in our little hour and the girls really did share the emotions with us. I loved the cosy cream carpets and podium that I just strolled about in, in my dream dress as much as I wanted to. The girls gave me and my mum private time to have this little moment and I loved that so much - with some champagne. They really let you be in the moment.

I loved my surprise that I got on picking up my dress, The White Collection make you feel like a princess and remind you that this is your moment and everything should be special. I remember walking about Glasgow with it, in a little bride bubble.

Aww I could go on forever, I just loved my experience so much and this was my first shop I ever went to and I didn’t need to go anywhere else. It’s the special touches that make The White Collection stand out from anyone else, alongside their beautiful dresses.

Did you have bridesmaids? How did you involve them in the wedding and how did you decide on their wedding wardrobe?

Yes!!! Two gorgeous maid of honours.

We stuck with the modern, classy and spring vibes aesthetic. We actually found them on Meshki and picked them together as I felt it was just as important for them to love them as much as I did and feel comfortable and gorgeous all day. We were torn between butter yellow and powder blue but we went with powder blue and they were perfect. I always wanted a wedding full of colour (which is actually the opposite of what I usually go for!) but April and Easter weekend meant it had to be colourful and it was so beautiful. Maybe the colours made the sun come out for us 🥰

What was your favourite part of the day?

Ahhhh I can’t choose one there was so many lovely times but some of my favourite moments were:

- My Maid of Honour and forever friend reading during our ceremony but it was written by her and was personal to our friendship, me as a person and myself and my husbands relationship - so special and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Something I’ll cherish forever.

- My dad asking our Pianist to play a song to me after his speech - Heartland ‘I loved her first’

- Just having our top table as me and my husband so we could share those moments just the two of us but still in a room with everyone we love.

- Our own vows!!!

- My Maid of Honours and mum arranging a ‘Letters to the Bride’ book for the morning of my wedding with a letter from everyone close to me - so special and something I’ll read forever when I’m feeling any different to remind me how people feel.

Okay basically everything 🥹😅
